THUMBS UP- THUMBS DOWN

An easy and effective way of getting feedback in class. Just ask the class to do ask for understanding or enjoyment in class and see what happens.

HOTS and LOTS

LOTS: Lower Order Thinking Skills
HOTS: High Order Thinking Skills

What's the difference? LOTS is given when answers to questions are given without much thinking on them. For example, Who's the main character in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone? Harry Potter. HOTS are used when questions require HIGH thinking skills, that is, making connections between the different ideas to create a new answer or a new concept in the brain. For example, Why do you think that Harry Potter makes his own hair grow again? In order to answer this questions, it is necessary to read the book and think what the character is thinking and what's the reason for that.
